Our Properties
The Joan Fernie Trust operates three separate farms; Moeangiangi 3644 hectares and Mangatapiri (incorporating Okaihau) 3008 hectares which are large-scale pastoral farms. Chesterhope contains 567 hectares of productive flat land on the Expressway between Napier and Hastings.
The Trustees have a blend of skills to enable the farms to operate profitably and sustainably while optimising support for organisations and the community.
Mike Barham - Chair
Mike is a respected farming leader and director with a lifetime of farming and business experience. In addition, he has been instrumental in supporting the HB Rural Support Trust.
Ana Apatu
Ana is the CEO of the Wharariki Trust which seeks to improve the lives of whānau. Ana is a Hastings
District Councillor and director of the Rescue Helicopter Trust.
Edward is a Director at Bramwell Bate lawyers specialising in commercial, property, rural, and succession planning. Edward has been a JFCT trustee since 2017.
Marcus grew up in Central Hawke’s Bay and is currently the ANZ Regional Manager. He has 17 years’ experience in commercial, corporate, and rural finance.
